Obituary For Philip John Schwarting

Philip Schwarting, 70, of Rapid City, South Dakota, passed away on July 10, 2025.

Born on September 13, 1954, Philip is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Thelma Schwarting, and his brother, Robert Schwarting.

He is survived by his sister, Penny Carlevato (Norm) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Philip was known for his outgoing spirit and warm heart. He graduated from Rapid City High School and worked for many years at Red Lobster.

He will be remembered for his kindness to the elderly and his love of music and most notably his autoharp. In his younger years, he loved to travel and explore the world. He was an avid photographer and especially loved going to car and dog shows. He was a valued friend who will be missed, but now is out of pain and sorrow and spending eternity with his savior, Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bible Fellowship Church.
