Obituary For Raymond Butterfield

Raymond Thomas Butterfield (Tom) passed away quietly in his sleep on March 23, 2016. He was born in Adams, MA, March 1, 1962, the son of Robert Leon Butterfield and Patricia Mae Ziemba. He grew up in Adams, MA and attended Hoosick Valley High School. He was very active in 4-H during that time. Tom's love in life was farming; specifically dairy farming and he never lost that passion. Over the years he managed many farms, Pouline Farms in Newport Center, Vt., Mapleline Farms in Hadley, Mass, and finally Pine Nook Farms in MA. His sons Christopher and David Butterfield continue that tradition to this day with their dairy farm in Vermont. He moved to Rapid City, South Dakota in 2009 and there he met his wife Roxanne Andre. They were married in 2011, inheriting four more children and eventually twelve grandchildren. He was active in volunteerism with the church and the community, and was always ready to lend a hand or a dollar to someone in need. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his two sons, Christopher and David Butterfield of Irasburg, VT., step mother Ella Butterfield of New York, brother Robert (Elizabeth) Butterfield of Bartonsville, Vt., two sisters Deborah (James) Brewer, of Newport Center, Vt., Cynthia (Allan) McClain of Clarksburg, MA., step children: Shannon (Jeff) Steier-Bailey, Levi (Leyla Kiosse) Steier, Alex (Venessa) Steier, Wade (Krista Wells) Steier, his grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
