Obituary For Raymond L. Brinkman
Raymond L. Brinkman, 85, Rapid City, died Friday Jan. 13, 2012 at Westhills Health Care. He was born May 2, 1926 in Miami, FL to Dr. Raymond and Marian (VanLandingham) Brinkman. He grew up at Live Oak, FL, graduating from high school there and enlisting in the US air Force where he served for several years until being honorably discharged. He married Ruth Woodburn in Las Vegas on May 5, 1945. He worked for Carpenter Paper Company, in Omaha, NE and Sioux City, moving to Rapid City in 1954. He retired on July 31, 1995. Raymond was a member of South Park United Church of Christ where he served on many boards and committees and as church moderator. He was also a member of the Noon Cosmopolitan Club where he served on various committees. Raymond is survived by two sons, David and Bruce, both of Denver, CO; his half-brother Covington, Longmont, FL; his half-sister Susan, Brunswick, GA and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, May 18, 2011; his mother, father, brother Ben, 2 step-brothers, John Quinn and Tom and step-mother Gretchen.
