Obituary For Rhonda Carol Zierolf
Celebrating a Life Well Lived
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rhonda Carol Zierolf, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, who departed this life on October 15, 2025, at the age of 66, after a nearly 10-year battle with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Rhonda was born on December 26, 1958, in Mobridge, SD, and throughout her life, touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Known for her kindness, generosity and positive personality, Rhonda dedicated her life to making the world a better place. She will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, her strength and positive attitude while fighting cancer, and the meaningful connections she made with friends and family.
Rhonda is survived her two sons; Jeremy Piel (Casa Grande, AZ) and Adam Piel (Rapid City, SD); her siblings; Mark Jung (Hamilton, OH), Sharon Noffke (Ashland, NE), Cynthia (Cindy) Custer (Rapid City, SD), Larry Jung (Isabel, SD) and Jason Jung (Hudson, WI); and 3 grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was preceded in heath by her husband, Skip Zierolf; parents, Philip and Gertrude Jung; brothers-in-law, David Butler and LeRoy Custer; and nephew, Matthew Buter.
At Rhonda’s request, her family will schedule two Celebration of Life services, one in Rapid City, SD, and one at Emerald Cove Resort in Parker, AZ, where she and Skip lived for many years. The dates for these services will be shared when the arrangements have been made. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the impact Rhonda made on those around them.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be sent to the Hope Fund at City of Hope in Goodyear, AZ or La Paz Animal Shelter (309 W 7th, St. Parker, AZ 85344).

Rhonda’s presence will be deeply missed, but her warmth, laughter, and love will be carried in our hearts forever.
