Obituary For Richard James Davis

Richard James Davis, 86, Rapid City, passed away June 7, 2017. He was born on December 7, 1930 in Toledo, OH to Victor H. Davis and Winona Lee Davis.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Senf) Davis; 3 sons, Chuck, Daniel, and David; daughter Denise; 4 stepchildren Ken, John, Wayne, and Kathy Myers; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Richard was a retired Electrician with 59 years in the I.B.E.W. He helped wire the Cathedral and the hospital as well as many other places around the Rapid City area. He came to Rapid City via the Air Force. Richard was an avid sportsman. He went all over the country fishing and hunting large and small game of all types. He loved working with his hands, building his home and continually building projects. At work, he was an excellent technician, building fire alarm systems and control systems of all types. After retiring he used his skills to become a computer wizard. He spent many hours on the computer and could make it do whatever he wanted.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 12, at 1 pm at First Congregational Church with Pastor Ted Huffman officiating. 1200 Clark St. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis. Arrangements are in the care of Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home. Condolences may be conveyed to the family at behrenswilson.com
