Obituary For Robert 'Wambli Ohitka'-Brave Eagle Hultgren
Robert ‘Wambli Ohitka’-Brave Eagle Hultgren, 53, Sioux Falls, died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at Sanford Medical Center. He was born December 17, 1955 in Pine Ridge. He attended schools in Rapid City and graduated from Rapid City Central High School in 1975. He was a talented center on the basketball team and took them to the State Basketball Tournament. He also traveled the area on a Native American Basketball Team. Robert attended Dakota Wesleyan University and SD School of Mines and Technology until he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. The injuries he sustained forced him to be a resident of Dakota Abilities, Sioux Falls.He was very involved in his community where he played his guitar, chess and was an avid hunter.He was a great big brother and the strength of his family.He is survived by his mother, Verna E. Roubideaux-Hultgren, Sioux Falls; one brother, Mike Hultgren, Rapid City; three sisters, Veronica Dybdahl, Rapid City, Brandi Two Bulls, Lower Brule, Linda Two Bulls, Santé Fe, NM and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.He was preceded in death by his father, Arlen Hultgren, brother, Mitchell Hultgren and 2 nieces, Theresa and Melissa Hultgren.
