Obituary For Ronald 'Ron' King
Ronald ‘Ron’ E. King, 80, Keystone, died Sunday Feb 3, 2013 at the Ft. Meade VA Medical Center. Ron was born in Wells, Michigan on Sept 22, 1932 to Raymond and Georgene (Schomer) King. His siblings are Jeanne Allsworth (deceased), James King, Gladstone, MI; Sharon Dault, Monee, IL and Patricia Grimm, Phoenix, AZ. Ron attended the Gladstone, IL schools and enlisted in the US Air Force. He was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base where he had tours in the French Marco and North Africa near Casa Blanca and then honorably discharged in 1956. After the Air Force, he trucked for National Van Lines, worked as a mechanic at Sinclair on East Blvd and then owned and operated Ron’s Sinclair on Jackson Blvd in Rapid City for 18 years. He spent his adult life as a respected mechanic and taught his girls to rig a 6 cylinder to go anywhere. Ron had a great love for family, humor and practical jokes. On Sept 20, 1955, Ron married Janet Mundt from Agar, SD. Children born to this marriage were Nancy Rohrbach (Robert), Tammy Ball (Kent), Debra Horan (David) and Rodney King (deceased). In March 1988, Ron married Barbara Talley and became stepfather to Glenn Talley (Donna), Linda Nobels (Jim) and Alan Talley (Pam). Ron is grandfather to 16 children and 22 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister and son.
