Obituary For Roxanne Marie Reed
It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Roxanne Marie Reed, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Roxanne peacefully departed this world on May 20, 2026, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. Born on August 30,1951, in the charming town of Redfield, South Dakota, Roxanne's life was a testament to love, resilience, and compassion. Roxanne was the cherished daughter of Keith M. Reed and Rose O. Reed, whose spirits she joins in the eternal embrace of the afterlife. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Shelley Heinbaugh, whose memory Roxanne carried tenderly in her heart every day.
Roxanne's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with threads of love and dedication. She was a beacon of strength and wisdom to her surviving family, which includes her loving sons, Ben Heinbaugh and his wife Casie, and Rocky Reed and his wife Vicki. Her legacy lives on through her adored grandchildren, Ronin and Vera Reed, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. As well as with Roxanne’s siblings, with whom she shared countless cherished memories: her brother Keith Reed Jr. and his wife Linda; sisters Margaret Patterson and her husband Ron, Shirley Laino and her husband Bruce, Rebecca Curnutte and her husband Jereme, and sister Ruth Reed. Roxanne held her family close, always a source of support and guidance, nurturing bonds that will endure beyond her earthly presence.
Roxanne was a woman of remarkable warmth and unyielding spirit. Her life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to those she loved. She was known for her infectious laughter, her generous heart, and her ability to make everyone feel valued and important. Her home was a haven of hospitality, where stories were shared, and laughter echoed through the halls. The impact of Roxanne's kindness and compassion extended beyond her family to the many lives she touched in her community. She was a retired nurse and dedicated volunteer, always ready to provide care, lend a helping hand or offer a comforting word. She also had many close friends whom she loved travelling, swimming, playing bingo, going out to lunch or just chatting with. They were all very special to her and I am sure they will miss her friendship.
Her legacy of service and love will forever inspire those who were fortunate to know her. As we bid farewell to Roxanne, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her life was a blessing, and her memory will remain a guiding light for those who knew and loved her. A celebration of Roxanne's life will be held on May 30, 2026 at Behrens Wilson Funeral Home (11:00 am viewing, 1:00 pm service) where family and friends will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and express gratitude for the love she bestowed upon us all. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity close to Roxanne's heart, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, reflecting her lifelong dedication to helping and caring for others. Roxanne Marie Reed will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will endure, a testament to a life well-lived and a soul deeply cherished.
