Obituary For Ruth D Cannon
Ruth D. Cannon, 89, Rapid City, died Monday Jan 20, 2014 at Westhills Healthcare. She was born June 9, 1924 in Providence, RI. She received her schooling in Warwick and was the daughter of Charles and Alice Donahey. She married her loving husband, John F. (Jack) Cannon on August 2, 1945. They resided in Hastings, NE where she worked as secretary for the Hastings Publishing Company as office Manager. In 1953 a move to Rapid City began a 33 year association as secretary with what is now Wells Fargo Bank. Ruth was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Beta Sigma Phi and a founding member of Dahl Fine Arts as bookkeeper and contributing artist. Ruth is survived by two sisters Dorothy ‘Doris’ Wright, Massachusetts and Shirley Callahan, Rhode Island; one niece Cheryl Simms and four nephews, Ned and Jeffrey Wright and Michael and Robert Cannon; close friends Mark and Maggie Marshall, plus the Northbrook Neighbors who are fondly remembered as dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Cannon, January 20, 2010 and two sisters, Mildred and Charlotte.
