Obituary For Sandra K Mason
Sandra K Mason, Rapid City, the oldest daughter of Raymond ‘Smokey’ and Vera Mason, passed away Tuesday, April 15th at the age of 64. She was born on Feb 9, 1950 in Pierre, SD. She was the first grandchild of John and Mary Moore of Highmore and what a delight she was to her grandparents and uncles Martin and Everett. She attended kindergarten in Igloo, the remainder of her education was in Rapid City, graduating in 1968 from Central High School with high honors. Upon receiving a scholarship from Electricians Local 1250, she attended one year at the School of Mines, then went on to Denver to computer school. She worked in the computer field for years in Denver. In 1995 she had to quit working for health reasons and she moved back to Rapid City. On April 28, 2012 she became a great aunt to Ella Wendt, Sioux Falls. This beautiful baby was the love of her life. Her apartment was a photo gallery of Ella. She made photo blankets and calendars of her and always asked Ella’s mom for new photos. She leaves to mourn, her mother Vera Mason, Rapid City; brothers Randy R Mason, Rapid City and Gary Mason, Sioux Falls; her nephews Sam, Richard and Brian; niece LaRae (Derek) Wendt; great nieces Miss Ella Wendt and Ariel Conger; aunts, uncles and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Smokey Mason, her sister Lori A Conger and nephew Franklin Conger. It was her request not to have services and she has been cremated. We wish to thank the Rapid City Police Dept for their help and kindness to Sandra’s family.
