Obituary For Sharon Ann Brave

Sharon Ann Brave

November 4, 1947 – December 19, 2026

Sharon Ann Brave was born on November 4, 1947 in Wagner, SD to George G Nichols “Snow” and Eva J Nichols. Sharon made her journey to the Spirit World on December 19, 2025 at Avantara North. Sharons Indian name is Tatanka Winyan “Buffalo Girl”.

Sharon loved Elvis Presley – the famous saying “Elvis has left the building” was said at the end of every show to tell fans that the show was over and Elvis was gone. Now, it is appropriate to say – “Sharon has left the building”

Sharon grew up in Rapid City, SD all her life. She graduated from Rapid City High School in 1966. She then went on to “Beauty School” and received her license. From there, Sharon was a pawn broker for many many years working at the downtown Rapid City pawn shops. She loved this job because she loved people. Sharon was born with “The gift of gab”. Truly her best talent.

22 years ago, she quit the job she loved so very much to dedicate the rest of her life to solely caring for her grandchildren so they wouldn’t have to go to daycare centers. She trusted nobody to watch her grandbabies!

In her younger years, she loved to meet up with her many friends at DD’s, Stockman’s and Time Out. She loved all her friends dearly. Sharon had a heart of gold. She always made sure that everyone was taken care of.

Sharon was the “Queen” of Thrift Stores. She was looking for treasures any chance she got. Sharon Devoted her days to her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Cherishing every moment with all of them. She deeply loved her relatives and stood fiercely for her family. Sharon stood in the storm. And when the wind didn’t blow her way, she adjusted her sails. She always carried herself with grace and a fierce spirit.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, sister Rosemond Goins and Brother-in-law Lofthis C. Goins, brothers Ramon Roubideaux and Buddy Roubideaux, Son-in-law Charles M Richards II, Nieces Betty Ann, Linda and Susie Moore and her son’s dog Zuez who she babysat every day.

Sharons 2 children were her greatest treasures.

Sharon is survived by her son Charles “Chuck” Nichols, Emilie, Eva, Sia and Sah. And Daughter Monique “Moni” Brave. The loves of her life were her grandkids and great grandkids: Sierra Mist (Paul) Martin, Nyjah Richards, X’Zalea, Sequoia, Kawhi Martin. Tiana (Guero Alvarez)Pavon, Baby Mia Alvarez and a new great grandbaby to be born June 2026. Deja R. Guthmiller (Her King), Karli, Patience “Baby Dove”, Alani and Baby Deja Jr.

Sisters Marlene Drapeau and family, Darlene “Blondie” Williamson and family.

Niece Michelle Moore and family. Nephews Dewey Moore and family, Danny Moore.

Auntie Lucille Provost and Joe.

Other special people in Sharons life include Phil Lampert – Chucks dad, Marty Brave – Monis dad, Dr. B – her knight in shining armor, Reva Bad Wound, Amy Sherman, Isabelle Guerue, Sandy White Feather, Sherry Nalls, Cathy Jeffries, Dayle Horten, Kassa One Feather, Arlen Hatten, Tristan Pavon and Angelo Ruiz.

My mom did not want any kind of service – she said, “when I die, just take me to the creamery (crematory) and pick me up and all you kids and grandkids just divvy up my ashes – and that’s it.”

She also said, “Only cry for a little bit, not a long time. Tell all my friends that I love them.”

She will be missed by so many!!
