Obituary For Shirley J. Herron

Shirley Jeanne Herron, 80, Custer, died Thursday Dec. 7, 2006 at her home. She was born May 12, 1926 in Davenport, IA to Ray and Grace (Cecil) Shirlaw, where she grew up and attended school. Shirley married Charles C. Herron on Sept. 24, 1945 in North Platte, NE. They traveled with the military, stationed throughout the US and Puerto Rico. They moved to Montana in 1965 and returned to the area in 1982 to be closer to their family. Shirley is survived by her son Ray and wife Connie Herron; 2 granddaughters, Kari (Dan) Simonson; Lori (Mark) Morgan, all of Rapid City; 4 great grandchildren, Emily and Noah Simonson; Alexandria and Courtnie Morgan; 2 brothers, Ray Shirlaw, Phoenix, AZ; Denver Shirlaw, North Platte, NE; 5 nieces and 3 nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Herron, one son, Dennis, in infancy; parents and 2 brothers
