Obituary For Stanley E. Whyte

Stanley E. Whyte, 71, Hill City, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Custer Regional Care Center.He was born February 25, 1941 in Rapid City to Leonard and Leona Whyte. He attended school in Rapid City and joined the US Navy in 1958 serving 4 years.He spent 20 years in the banking business with 12 years as manager of the United National Bank in Hill City. He retired in 1994 after 5 years with American Family Insurance Company. Stanley was active in the Hill City Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce during his working years. Stanley was a member of the Little White Church.Stanley enjoyed spending time with friends and family camping, hiking and hunting with his sons.Stanley married Marcella Wier of Belle Fourche on February 14, 1969 In Rapid City. They lived in North Dakota, Nebraska and New Hampshire prior to settling in Hill City in 1977 where they raised 3 sons.Stanley is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marcella, of the home; sons, Randy, Sheridan, Wyoming, Scott (Amarie), Cheraw, South Carolina and 4 grandchildren.Stanley was preceded in death by a son, Keith, his parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
