Obituary For Susan Jo Harris
On June 6th, 2017 a beautiful soul was unexpectedly called to Heaven to be with our Lord. Susan was born in Rapid City on June 18, 1945. Growing up and graduating from Hot Springs High School, Susan pursued a college education at Chadron State College. She excelled as a domestic engineer, worked in law enforcement, and was also a local business owner with her husband. She had an insatiable love for her family. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to everyone who was in her presence. Susan had a unique way of connecting to people; she made an impact on everyone she met. Her positive attitude always shined and her laughter was contagious. Sue was a phenomenal cook, loved fine wines, family history, reading, the Black Hills, and she loved her buffalo.
Susan is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rex; son Jeff (Carlene) Harris, daughter Heather (Mike) Dever; brother Scott (Kathy) Christensen, sister Leslie (Allen) Bennett; eight grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She will be missed but will live forever in our hearts.
