Obituary For Sylvia Mae Rodden
Sylvia Mae (Nichols) Rodden, 67, of Rapid City, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017, in Aurora, Colorado after a brief illness.
Sylvia was born in Watertown, SD to Raymond W. Nichols and Thelma I. (Reeves) Nichols on June 6, 1949. She graduated from Spearfish High School in 1967. Sylvia worked as a cook in a nursing home until moving to Rapid City where she began babysitting children for many years. She married Robert Rodden on July 1, 1987. Sylvia was an active member in TOPS and her church.
Sylvia is survived by her mother Thelma Nichols Missouri Valley, IA, her sisters JoAnn Nichols Council Bluffs, IA, Jane (Mick) Mitera Marble Falls, TX, Susan (Mel) Armagost, Marble Falls, TX, a brother Bob (Sandy) Nichols Spearfish, SD, a sister-in-law Anita Wetzel Cheyenne, WY, and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sylvia was preceded in death by her spouse Robert Rodden, father Raymond W. Nichols and a brother Raymond L. Nichols.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
