Obituary For Thelma Irene Wagner Sweigart

Thelma Irene Wagner Sweigart, 90, Rapid City died Thursday Dec. 16, 2010 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She was born in Eldorado, NE to Howard and Martha (Tessman) Rath on February 24, 1920. She grew up in Eldorado and graduated from Harvard High School, Harvard, NE in 1935. Thelma married Carl Wagner in Lincoln NE in March 1940. They later moved to Harvard NE where she taught ceramic classes. They moved to Rapid City in the early 1960’s and she has lived in the same house since. She worked at the Department of Transportation for 22 years retiring in 1985. Thelma married Leon Sweigart on January 19, 2006 in Las Vegas, NV. Thelma is survived by her husband, Leon Sweigart, Rapid City; step-daughter, Eila (Sonny) Waterland, Snowflake, AZ and three sisters, Elanor Klassoft, Layton, UT; DeLoris Yost and LaVonne Fitzkie, both of Harvard, NE. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Wagner, Aug. 1998; her step-son, Jerome ‘Jerry’ Wagner; her brother Jerry Rath and 2 sisters, Maxine Edwards and Joanne Williamson. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Baum officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 20th at the funeral home. Condolences may be conveyed to the family at www.behrenswilson.com
