Obituary For Timothy Ray Parker

It is with deep remorse that we announce Timothy, “Tim” Ray Parker,68, born in Sioux Falls, SD on February 21, 1956, has peacefully passed away in Rapid City, SD on February 22, 2024. Tim leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by all who knew him.

Growing up, Tim was, without question, the troublemaker of the Parker family. He made sure to give his parents and siblings a hard time, tormenting them all to no end. Good luck catching him to punish him though, he was as fast as lightning! Funny enough they later realized that’s just how he showed his love. You never had to second guess if Tim liked you or not because if he was picking on you, or giving you a hard time, you were without question, in knowing that you were now a huge part of his life, and he treated you like family.

Tim attended Washington High in Sioux Falls, SD and later worked various jobs throughout his life including: thirty years of service to the public school systems, working for both the Sioux Falls and Rapid City school districts. He made numerous connections, and many lifelong friends along this journey that always counted on him for a funny joke, or a good time.

Outside of work, Tim found joy in various hobbies and interests. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, WWE wrestling, and despite the grief from his friends and family, a huge Green Bay Packer fan. He could often be found spending time at the local speedway, fueling his passion for the thrill of racing, and having a few beers at the local pub with his best friends and family. Anytime you needed a drinking buddy, or someone to celebrate with, Tim was there, and he was the life of the party.

Among his most cherished activities was playing Santa Claus for local charities and bringing smiles to children and families during the holiday season. With his: bright white beard, windsor glasses and joyful laughter, he was a spitting image of jolly old Saint Nick.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents Katherine and Jack Parker Sr, as well as his sisters Wendy Jones and Kari Heng. Tim is survived by his: sister, Debbie Newman and brothers Jack Parker Jr, and Michael Parker. He also leaves behind seven nieces and nephews, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews all of whom he adored dearly.

In honoring his memory, let us celebrate the life of a kind-hearted man who touched the hearts of many and will forever be remembered for his: laughter, jokes, and unwavering love for those around him. Rest in peace, Timothy Ray. Your spirit lives on in the memories you created and the lives you touched. May you find eternal peace in the arms of the angels.

My deepest condolences to the entire Parker Family. This guy; what a guy. Since I received the news, all I've done is relive our days as a pool team together, as American 🇺🇸 Legion Outlaws. The name was fitting, and when I was invited onto the team, I felt like I belonged. I felt like I had gained a whole new family of brothers. I can recall so many good memories with Tim during leagues and tournaments. I still talk about a lot of those still to this day. May the Parkers find some comfort during this difficult time, and may Timmy fly high with the Angels. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. - Posted by Penny Porter on February 28, 2024
