Obituary For Violet D. Lawless

Violet D. Lawless, 74, Rapid City died Monday Jan. 22, 2007 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Violet was born July 25, 1932 in Noonan, ND to Bill and Cora (Pederson) Thompson. The family moved to Rapid City in 1943. Vi lived in several places after leaving Rapid City in 1947, including Topeka, KS where she married and spent 25 years. She worked as a waitress at Red Lobster in Topeka for several years. In 1981 she returned to Rapid City where she worked at Howard Johnson for 16 years, retiring in 1997. Violet is survived by one son, James P. Lawless, Houston, TX; one daughter, Deborah M. Lawless, Rapid City; three grandchildren, Kyle Lawless, Rapid City; Alyssa Dawn Lawless; Macyn Grace Lawless, both of Houston, TX; one brother, Carl ‘Tommy’ and wife Ann Thompson, Choctaw, OK; 3 sisters, Adeline and husband Kenny Johnson, Billings, MT; Cathy and husband Walt McDougall, Wyola, MT; Joanne and husband Tommy Handley, Rapid City; two sisters-in-law, Alta Thompson, Rapid City; Helen Thompson, Island Park, ID and brother-in-law Marion Hartse, Baker, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Cora Thompson; three sisters, Esther Hartse; Jean Deaver; Carrie Anchutz; two brothers, Kenny Thompson; Larry Thompson; one brother and one sister in infancy; grandparents and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
