Obituary For Vivian Elaine Hopperdietzel

Vivian Elaine Hessey was born August 30, 1946 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Gordon and Mabel Hessey. They resided in Rib Falls with her 2 brothers, Thomas and Vernon until she graduated high school. At that time, she moved to Berlin, WI, where she worked in a shoe factory. She met Gordon George Hopperdietzel, who would become her husband. They were married on August 30, 1967 in Huntsville, Alabama.After their wedding, they resided in Berlin, WI for a short time. In 1968, they headed west in search of a new life and to meet up with an army buddy of Gordon’s in Oregon. As they passed through South Dakota, they were pulled over by the police for the “arrest ‘em and guest ‘em program. They enjoyed a free meal and a free nights stay in Rapid City which was their first night and the beginning of their life in South Dakota.On July 20, 1969, Gordon George, Jr. was born and 2 years later on February 26, 1971, Michelle Lea was born.Vivian worked at various jobs throughout her life including working as a seamstress, an engraver, and ran a daycare. During the later years, she worked as a breakfast attendant in various hotels. She befriended many weary travelers throughout the years as she served them breakfast.Gordon, Sr., passed away in February, 2013 and Vivian moved to an apartment where she began a new phase of her life. She met Pat, her best friend, and they proceeded to enjoy many adventures and shenanigans together.Vivian enjoyed going to the American Legion and the Moose Lodge to meet friends and listen to karaoke. On many occasions, she coerced singers to perform her favorite songs. Some of these people have become very important to her.Vivian leaves behind her family: daughter, Bonnie Hopperdietzel and children, Audie Larvie, Adriana (Bill) Holt, Sean Larvie, Natasa Bear Heels; son, Gordon and wife Jolene Hopperdietzel and children, Victoria Hopperdietzel, Rachael Hopperdietzel; daughter, M’chelle and husband Mike Taylor and seventeen great grandchildren.
