Obituary For William Charles Hardy
William (Bill) Charles Hardy passed away February 11, 2016 at the age of 51. Bill is survived by his wife Crystal Hardy of 5 years; his three children Jessica Hardy-Walsh (Trey Walsh), Trevor Hardy (Kelsi Hardy), Heath Hardy and grandson Brandon Hardy; his step-children Megan Dees and Katlyn Dees; his father William Hardy; his siblings Joan Jurisch (Tony Jurisch), Peggy Wood (Adam Wood), and Vince Hardy (Donna Hardy); and many nieces, nephews and other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Hardy.Bill was a combat veteran who served our great country as a 1SG for over 25 years in the US Army. He served in Fort Waynewright, Alaska, Fort Stewart, GA, and Fort Knox, KY, before retiring at Fort Riley, KS. 1SG(R) Hardy deployed to Kuwait, then Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn. During Bill’s service he earned various service medals and ribbons to include the South West Asia Service Medal w/Bronze Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal w/Campaign Star, Armed Forces Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal w/Arrowhead Device, UN Medal, and the Air Assault Badge.Bill had an infectious spirit and charisma that filled every room he walked into. He will be missed dearly and be in our hearts forever.
