Obituary For William L. Spratte

William L. Spratte, 77, Rapid City died Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.Bill was born October 31, 1939 in Newhall, Iowa to Joseph William and Emma Jane (Sellers) Spratte. He graduated from high school in Shellsburg, IA and moved to Rapid City in February of 1961.William married Bonita ‘Bonnie’ Barthel on September 12, 1964 in Beach, ND. He worked for Nash Finch from 1960 until his retirement in 2008.Bill’s family, grandchildren and friends were very important to him. He enjoyed reading, playing cards, traveling and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan as well as Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes. He was a member of the Cathedral where he enjoyed helping with ministry and was a former choir member and Eucharistic minister. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in the 4th Degree.Bill is survived by his wife, Bonita ‘Bonnie’ Spratte, daughter, Sue, sons, Brian, Billy all of Rapid City; 5 grandchildren; Jonathan,Nolan, Jarret, Layton and Danica; siblings, Donald (Judy) Spratte, James (Pam) Spratte, Mary (John)Ritzman, Dennis Spratte all of Cedar Rapids, IA.He was preceded in death by his parents.
