Obituary For Zachary George Wood

Zachary George Wood died as a result of an accidental fall near Deadwood on July 24, 2015. He was born in Rapid City to George (Jeff) and Victoria Wood on July 23, 1977. He attended school in Rapid City, SD through the 6th grade where he developed a passion for basketball. This passion continued throughout his middle school and high school years in Madison, SD where he graduated in 1996. Zack married Leah Fjerstad on October 12, 2007 in Sioux Falls, SD.He was a great cook and enjoyed developing and trying new recipes. He was a chef in the Black Hills, Sioux Falls, and Deadwood. He is survived by his son Alex Kranz, (mother, Jen Kranz) Yankton, SD and his daughter, Avery Wood, (mother Leah Wood) Sioux Falls, SD, his sister Heather White, Erie, CO, his father George (Jeff) Wood (stepmother, Karin), Deadwood, SD, and mother Victoria Blair, (stepfather David) Sierra Vista, AZ, his stepsisters, Francie Foral, Deadwood, SD and Dr. Shannon Grosdidier (Jason), Wenatchee, WA , his stepbrothers Lee Richard Foral (Tess) Minneapolis, MN, Dr. David A.(Tony) Blair (Victoria) Rapid City, SD, Thomas Blair (Lindsey) Show Low, AZ and his grandmother, Viola Ruth Wood. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Dr. George Wood and his grandparents Stanley and Dorothea Pozorski.
